Inconel Alloy 718
Common Trade Names: Inconel 718, Alloy 718, Nickel 718, Nicrofer 5219, Alvac 718, Haynes 718, Altemp 718
INCONEL alloy 718 is designated at UNS N07718, UNS N07719, and Werkstoff Nr. 2.4668 is a Nickel-Chromium alloy being precipitation hardenable and having high creep-rupture strength at high temperatures to about 700°C (1290°F)
Properties:
- This age-hardenable alloy can be readily fabricated, even into complex parts
- Its welding characteristics, especially its resistance to postweld cracking, are outstanding
- These alloys might be used in any environment that requires resistance to heat and corrosion but where the mechanical properties of the metal must be retained
Typical Applications:
- components for liquid fueled rockets, rings, casings and various formed sheet metal parts for aircraft
- land-based gas turbine engines
- cryogenic tankage
- for fasteners
- instrumentation parts
Product Forms:
- Sheets, Strips, Plates
- Round Bars, Flat Bars, Hexagon
- Pipes, tubes
- Wires
